Reviewing and Deciding on Applicants

This guide walks through the full applicant review workflow — from viewing your applicant list through to making a hiring decision.

How to Access Your Applicants

  1. Navigate to All Applications from your employer dashboard.

  2. The applicant list displays each candidate's name, the job they applied for, the date they applied, their Match Score, and the current status of their application.

  3. Use the filter field to search by applicant username or select a specific job from the dropdown to narrow the list.

Reviewing an Applicant's Profile

Click on any applicant to open their full profile. The following information is available in read-only format:

Understanding the Match Score

The Match Score is a system-generated percentage reflecting how well the applicant's profile aligns with your job's requirements. It is read-only and cannot be modified. Use it as a prioritization tool — review high-scoring candidates first, but do not automatically reject low-scoring candidates without reviewing their full profile.

How to Approve an Applicant

  1. Open the applicant's profile and click Approve.

  2. The Approve Application modal opens, confirming the applicant passed screening.

  3. Optionally enter a Google Meet link and select an Interview Date.

  4. Click Submit to confirm, or Cancel to close without approving.

The applicant's status updates to Approved immediately. If you entered interview details, they will be visible to the applicant in their Applications tab.

How to Reject an Applicant

  1. Open the applicant's profile and click Reject.

  2. The Reject Application modal opens. Enter a rejection reason — this field is mandatory.

  3. Click Submit to confirm, or Cancel to close without rejecting.

The applicant's status updates to Rejected immediately. The rejection reason and any AI-generated rejection context are stored with the application record.

Assessment Screenshots and Your Responsibility

SkillPath does not validate the authenticity of assessment screenshots. The platform confirms only that a file was uploaded in a supported format. You are responsible for evaluating the credibility of uploaded screenshots before making hiring decisions.

Application Status Reference

Pending — application submitted and under employer review.

Approved — application accepted. Interview details sent to the applicant if provided.

Rejected — application declined. Rejection reason recorded.

Key Takeaway

Approving an applicant allows you to optionally provide a Google Meet link and interview date, which will be visible to the applicant immediately.

Rejecting an applicant requires a mandatory rejection reason. All records are preserved permanently.

The best hiring decisions are made with complete information — review every data point before deciding.
